Struggling to open my eyes, I coerce my legs to take me closer to the source of the obnoxious sound to turn it off after minutes of listening to the sound. After several attempts, silence fills the room and am urged to fill the void with something pleasant. Brushing over several buttons, the power button is finally found and the sweet sounds of Sports Center is like coffee to my system as it wakes me up. I open up my laptop to check my mail and the morning news and check the weather to decide what to wear. As I make my way to the closet I pick up my Razr and switch sound profiles. After getting dressed, eating some breakfast and doing all a person does in the morning, I head over to the door – picking up my iPod on the way.
Five electronic devices and several services in less than an hour. I’m sure that I am not alone in saying that my life revolves around technology. Are we too dependent on all this tech goodness? Probably. Is it a bad thing? Dependence if there is electricity available. I honestly cannot pin point the time my life evolved so much to be dependent on all these various gadgets and services that make life so much easier.
Worst part about this way of life is that most of us take it for granted. We go along our days without stopping to appreciate the small things of life that truly matter and make life so precious and beautiful. When was the last time you smelled a flower or looked up at the sky and marvel at its beauty? If you can’t recall the last time, then stop what ever it is that you are doing and enjoy some simple part of life right now. I dare you!

Microsoft has been telling us all about the “Wow” for the greater part of the year. The wow that they are refering to is the reaction they expect the average user to experience after checking out Microsoft’s newest product – Windows Vista.
